Terms of Enrollment

The basics of how enrollment works at Mustard Seed — semester classes, drop-ins, class sizes, your free Try a Class visit, and payment. By enrolling, you agree to these terms and to our policies below.

One account per family. In our enrollment portal, a family creates a single account, adds each student, and enrolls per class. Everything below applies once you enroll.

1. Semester classes vs. drop-in classes

We offer two kinds of classes:

  • Semester classes (fixed enrollment). Most of our classes run as a full-semester course with a set number of weekly sessions and a reserved seat for your student. You enroll once for the term and pay the flat tuition for the whole semester. Your seat is held for the full term whether or not every session is attended.
  • Drop-in classes. Community Sing and Community Drum are our all-ages drop-in classes. You can attend by the session at the drop-in rate, or pay the discounted semester rate to attend the whole term. No long-term commitment is required for drop-ins.

See the Classes and Schedule & Tuition pages for which classes are semester vs. drop-in, along with dates and prices.

2. Class-size limits

To keep instruction personal and hands-on, every class has a limited number of seats (listed on the Schedule & Tuition page). Seats are filled on a first-come, first-served basis by completed, paid enrollment. When a class is full, we’ll put you on the waiting list. If a spot opens or we open another session, we’ll contact you.

3. Free trial credit

Every student receives one free Try a Class visit to try one of our community/drop-in classes at no cost before committing — and we’ll keep adding community classes over time. The Try a Class visit is one per student and cannot be exchanged for cash or account credit. Not ready to enroll? Join our email list and we’ll let you know about free demo classes and community events.

4. Payment at enrollment

Full tuition is due at the time of enrollment, and a student’s seat is confirmed once payment is received. Payments are processed securely through Square; we do not store your card details. A one-time $15 registration fee is added just once per family (never on trials, drop-ins, or one-time workshops), and stays active as long as your family takes at least one class per year — see the Schedule & Tuition page. Tuition is credit-only and non-refundable — see the Enrollment, Payment & Credit Policy before you enroll.

5. Ages & placement

Classes are grouped by age and stage so students learn alongside peers. Please enroll each student in a class that matches the listed age range. If you are unsure which class is the best fit, contact us and we will help you place your student.

Our community classes (like Community Sing & Community Drum) are open to all ages for a family-style learning environment. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a participating adult.

6. Communication & schedule changes

We’ll use the email and phone number on your family account for enrollment confirmations, schedule updates, and class communications. Class times and dates are subject to change; we will notify enrolled families of any changes as early as we can. If we cancel a session, it is handled under our credit policy.

7. Our policies

Your enrollment is also governed by the following policies. Please read them — you accept them at registration:
